IMDb profile

The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, is a Science Fiction semi-spoof film. It is based on the book "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" by Douglas Adams (really?).

StoryEdit

Just minutes before Earth is destroyed...Earth-man Arthur Dent and his alien friend Ford Prefect "Hitchhike" onto a Vogon ship. (The Vogons are the aliens who are going to blow up earth.) On the ship Ford gives Arthur a copy of "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy". They are cought by the Vogons and sentenced to die in the outer vacuum of space, However they are rescued by the Starship Heart Of Gold. Upon their arrival they meet Earth-Girl Tricia McMillin, Marvin, and the dim whitted President Of The Galaxy Zaphod Beeblebrox. Zaphod tells Ford (who is his semi-half brother, and also shares three of the same mothers as him) that he is searching for the "Ultimate Question". Zaphod shows Ford a video taken from the planet Magrathea, when two of the greatest scientists asked the super-computer: Deep Thought what the Answer was to the question of "Life, The Universe, and Everything." which Deep Thought instructs them to come back 7 1/2 billion years later, which they do, and Deep Thought gives them the Answer To The "Ultimate Question" which is... 42. Which, Deep Thought claims, makes sence if you knew the real awnser since the above wasn't really a question. After the video ends They decide to embark on a quest to find the real question. Eventually they make their way to the planet Magrathea and are told by Deep Thought that there was another computer it desined to calculate the ultimate question, but the Vogons destroyed it under orders from the president (who signed the order to destroy earth thinking smeone wanted his autograph). However Arthur meets an old planet maker named Slartibartfast, who shows Arthur their new planet: Earth Mark II. In the end everything gets put back in place and everything resumes as though nothing ever happened.
